What is the difference between mountain bikes and ordinary bicycles

Feb 24,2023 / Industry news

A mountain bike is specifically designed for off-road cycling on rough terrain, while a normal bike, also known as a road bike or a city bike, is designed for smooth road riding. Here are some of the key differences between the two:
Frame: A mountain bike has a sturdier and more durable frame to handle the stresses of off-road riding. It is usually made of steel, aluminum, carbon fiber, or a combination of these materials. A normal bike has a lighter frame and is usually made of aluminum or carbon fiber.
Tires: Mountain bikes have wider tires with a more aggressive tread pattern for better traction on loose terrain. Normal bikes have narrow tires with smoother treads for efficient riding on smooth roads.
Suspension: Most mountain bikes have front suspension forks and some have rear suspension as well to absorb shocks and vibrations from rough terrain.
